Book Van Gogh offer

Was Van Gogh insane ? Antonin Artaud is challenging this current opinion and shows how his exceptional lucidity made lesser minds uncomfortable ; those who were disturbed by his painting drove him to suicide.  « Le suicidé de la société ».  Based on the categories and the unusual designations put forward by Artaud in Van Gogh, the Man Suicided by Society, the exhibition will comprise some thirty paintings, a selection of van Gogh’s drawings and letters, together with graphic works by the poet-illustrator.

Should you wish to see another remarkable exhibition please go tho the less known Marmottan museum (considered as the second impressionists’ museum after Orsay). For its 80th anniversary it shows an magnificent exhibition : « Les impressionnistes en privé » (private life of the impressionnists). This will allow you to discover  some paintings that have never been seen.  A hundred of master pieces that come from private collections.

Finally, if you would like to see an unusual exhibition, we recommend you to go to  the « Grand Palais » and explore  the tribute made to Bill Viola, the famous video artist. more than 30 screens, hours of images… Superb !
