Luxembourg Garden next door !
Half of our district (6th) is Luxembourg gardens and one of its entrance is 2 streets away from the hotel ! This is a masterpiece of « Jardin à la Française »
It is where the Senate is located and the amazing « Musée du Luxembourg ». It is also one of the favourite spot of parisians for jogging.
Did you know that one of the copy of Statue of Liberty is there ? |

On famous artists’ tracks
Artists that used to live or create in our area are so numerous that we cannot possibly name them all.
Painters such as : Modigliani, Gauguin, Matisse, Picasso, Soutine, Fujita and his model Kiki…
And writers : Hemingway, Apolinaire, Cocteau, Scott Fitzgerald, Simone de Beauvoir called this district « home »…
Just a block away, the « Atelier de la Grande Chaumière » offers daily drawing classes in the same setting as the « Masters » once did. |

The place to meet book lovers
The district (6th) with its historical background is a place were you can find editors, writers, literary coffes…
One of the best bookstore here in Paris, « Tschann » is right on the corner.
Next door, the restaurant « Chez Fernand » is the « canteen » of many famous writers.
Another famous restaurant is : « La closerie des Lilas » which first opened its doors back in 1847. This classy cafe is just 5 minutes walking distance. |

Art rimes with current events
Nextdoor, you can find the « Cartier Foundation » which is a far cry from the classical « old Paris » image. Situated over Blvd Raspail, this centre offers a stunning program on modern art.
In the district you can also find noumerous life theatres and cinemas, but our favourite place is : « Le Lucernaire ». A cultural center with theatres, cinemas, a booskstore, a cafeteria and a restaurant. A pure example of the artistic melting pot we love.
Do not skip the Zadkine museum (rue d’Assas) which is located in the original « Atelier de l’artiste ». |

A few tips ? The « macaron framboise » of the baker at Vavin square is really mmmm !
Another « must try » is the « religieuse au caramel beurre salé » from Macaron boutique on the boulevard up the hotel… |
